Are you ready? Have you been eagerly waiting on the edge of your recliner? Have you digested your turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie? Well, I’m ready to reveal the motor home thus far! Got it to a point where we are actually gonna take it on the road for a little R & R, but I have a hunch Randy will be stowing away some tools and “play things” for him to work on while we are away. Can’t slow that man down…and don’t want to!
Light fixtures have been painted, check. New cabinet hardware, check. New color on the bathroom cabinets doors!! Yes, brilliant idea.
I like it, gives the bathroom area a whole different look, a little more masculine feel. I like to try and keep a balance. Yin and Yang.

Fabric, fabric everywhere, I was having dreams about all this fabric!!
This kind of project can sure try your patience, but we are remembering to have fun with it and not to put pressure on ourselves to get it done. Randy’s in charge of upholstering the frame, I am redoing cushions.
My first EVER attempt at this. Took the old cushion apart and cut the new fabric to size. They had zippers in them, but I elected to make a flap in the back to stuff the stuffing back into it. Worked out great!
The old UGLY with the new. I’m gonna like this!! ~~click here to see what else is getting done~~
Things have been in motion, stuff is getting done, progress is in effect!
Let me remind you of how UGLY the flooring in the motor home was before, Randy couldn’t take it!! That was the very first thing he did to it…rip and tear, and he’s off and running.
We had 4 choices of colored flooring to consider, only 2 were viable options compared to the color of the cabinets. The lighter wood color with gray tones and a beach ‘feel’ lost out to the darker wood color with warm undertones. It seemed to offset the color of the cabinets and went better with some ideas I had rolling around in my head already. Randy liked it better and I had to agree. I hate when he’s right!

We took the beast for a trial run this weekend. Didn’t venture far, just an hour away to Arcadia, FL, cow country. It’s good to get away from the eddy that is living on the edge, also known as the coast. Went to hang with my parents for a spell.
So we packed up our tools, paint, yada, yada, you know it can’t be a relaxing vacay. Only went from Friday to Sunday so I can’t really even call it a vacay.
We just needed to give the ol’ girl a try. Did I tell you she is a 2000, with 47k miles? She handles good on the road according to Randy. We had an Indendence motor home a while back and he did NOT like the way it drove. He said it felt top heavy and light. He never felt comfortable driving it. Thank goodness his brother didn’t mind chauffeuring us around.
