I think we are getting darn close to completion, all except for the bathroom, which at this point seems like a minor undertaking, one we’d like to get going on, but the weather has been so fabulous here in SW FL that we’re having too much fun taking it out and playing!!

I left off showing you the new changes to the bedroom; headboard, ceiling and valances.  We have moved on to the valances in the living area and a few small additional items.

First off, what does one man do with so many damn remotes?

You marry a woman with sewing skills and creative abilities to surprise you with your own remote holder…he’s a happy man!!

It looks great and keeps them handy for a quick flame in the fireplace, just in case he wants to make a move, or to put on some funk and bust a move.  Or how about a fast dose HGTV, or disco lights on the ceiling…yep, he has them all!

Here’s a reminder of some of the faux leather and faux naugahyde we purchased to go with the couch fabric.  The lighter color was used to redo the valances around the windows in the living/dining areas.

On the upper valance above Randy’s chair, we decided to add a swatch of the couch fabric, just to tie things in within the living area.

The darker brown naugahyde was used to wrap the backs of the dinette.  We figured it would give it a little more pizzazz not to have the lighter color, also adds some texture and wouldn’t show dirt/markings.  We have yet to tackle the ugly ass fabric on the cushions of the dinette.  I’ll find the perfect fabric in time, looking for shades of brown, leaning towards stripes.  You’ll just have to wait to see…

Hope all is fine in everyone’s world. Take a walk, smell the air…breathe deep.

Namaste~

Are you ready?  Have you been eagerly waiting on the edge of your recliner?  Have you digested your turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie? Well, I’m ready to reveal the motor home thus far!  Got it to a point where we are actually gonna take it on the road for a little R & R, but I have a hunch Randy will be stowing away some tools and “play things” for him to work on while we are away.  Can’t slow that man down…and don’t want to!

Light fixtures have been painted, check. New cabinet hardware, check. New color on the bathroom cabinets doors!!  Yes, brilliant idea.

I like it, gives the bathroom area a whole different look, a little more masculine feel.  I like to try and keep a balance.  Yin and Yang.

Fabric, fabric everywhere, I was having dreams about all this fabric!!

This kind of project can sure try your patience, but we are remembering to have fun with it and not to put pressure on ourselves to get it done.  Randy’s in charge of upholstering the frame, I am redoing cushions.

My first EVER attempt at this. Took the old cushion apart and cut the new fabric to size. They had zippers in them, but I elected to make a flap in the back to stuff the stuffing back into it. Worked out great! 140

The old UGLY with the new. I’m gonna like this!!144 ~~click here to see what else is getting done~~

Randy and I have different styles of attacking a project.  I like to let a house ‘talk to me’ and tell me what would bring it to life.  So no-doubt that is how I thought we’d approach the rv remod.  But I’ve been married to my husband for 27 years, you would certainly think I would know better, perhaps it’s more a matter of wishful thinking.

Randy wakes up in the wee hours of the morning, I’m talking like 2:00 a.m.  I have to admit, we do go to bed way earlier than normal folk. I’m the daughter of a farmer, so it’s natural to me to go to bed with sun and wake up with the sun. We LOVE the mornings, but he really loves the mornings.  So before I even got used to the fact there was this monstrosity in our yard, he had the old carpet tore out.  Not complaining, ’cause he sure does get things done, and beside that…the carpet was some kind of Ugly!

It has great bones!

Yep, that’s us, my husband and I.  Between the two of us, we can tackle almost anything, and have often put ourselves to that test.  We started off small; fix up a car here or there for a little flow money.  Then we tried our hand at designing, cutting and painting craft items.  Those were mostly given as gifts throughout the years to friends and family along the way.  I have pieces of me all over the place.

After trying other things on for size, we moved on to buying, living in, fixing up, having fun in…did I say living in, a lot of houses, did i say a lot?  (I’ve moved 28 times in my life.)  We could be professional movers, we have it down to a science. But…
